Our Facility

Brooklyn Community Estate's ground breaking occurred in 1966. The original
two wings (North and East) were completed in 1967.  It was in this year that
the first residents moved into Brooklyn Community Estate, a 45 bed
intermediate Care Facility with both private and semi-private rooms.

The Board of Directors opted to build an additional hall between the existing
wings in 1993.  In 1994 the first resident moved into the new extension.  The
addition raised Brooklyn Community Estate's census to 60 beds.

The facility was purchased by Shane and Susan Sissel in October of 2012.
Shane Sissel function as the administrator and social worker.

Brooklyn Community Estates consist of:

  • 15 Large Private rooms with private bathrooms

  • 21 Small private rooms

  • 12 Semi-private rooms (24 beds)

The current facility layout includes three hallways (North, Middle and East), 2
dining rooms, a lobby area with a bird aviary, nurse's station, beauty shop,
kitchen, rehabilitation room and several offices.  A full basement provides
ample storage, offices, break room and houses our laundry services.

The facility applied for certification to provide Skilled Nursing Services in
June of 2009.  The Department of Inspections and Appeals and the Centers
for Medicare Services granted approval for Brooklyn Community Estate to
become dually certified Skilled Nursing Facility and Intermediate Care
Facility in October of 2009.
